Alex De Minaur Breaks Australian Hoodoo at French Open
Medvedev Becomes Highest Seed to Fall
Highlights from the Quarter-Final Clash
Alex De Minaur has broken a 20-year Australian hoodoo at the French Open, becoming the first player from his country to reach the quarter-finals since Mark Philippoussis in 2003. The 11th seed defeated Daniil Medvedev, the No. 2 seed, in a grueling five-set match, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.
Medvedev is the highest-ranked player to fall in the singles draw so far. His defeat leaves Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic as the favorites for the title.
